Clubworthy House

About Us

Nos Nom aims to provide 1:1 support for able bodied individuals with a learning disability who may have associated health and welfare needs. This may include behaviour that challenges staff and may lead to safe holding to prevent self harm and harm to other people.

The support will be uniquely tailored to the individual and provide the opportunity to gain confidence, self worth and independence. Care plans, life plans and risk assessments and their assessment will be exclusive to the individual.

This support will be given in a way that is age appropriate and pitched at the right level of understanding for each individual. Support advice will be sought from the individual themselves, family members, other support staff and other healthcare professionals which gives a multi disciplinary/agency approach.

The home itself will provide a friendly atmosphere in which the individuals will share with the managers and other staff. Individuals will be encouraged to take an active part in household duties, decoration and feel of the home.

Placements

There will be a maximum of two placements within the home and the placements will be offered on a long term basis.

Permaculture

The ethics of Permaculture will feature throughout the service. Which are Earth Care, People Care and Fair Share.

The home itself will offer a wide range of activities both on and off site.

On-site

There will be animals to care for such as horses, goats, guinea pigs, rabbits, hens, cats and a dog. There will be a vegetable garden which will supply the house with much of the vegetables needed throughout the year.

Off-site

The individuals will be encouraged to use the local community facilities. This may include using the local shops, leisure centre, public houses and accessing college courses. We aim to support and facilitate willing individuals to find and maintain suitable employment whether it is on a paid or voluntary basis.
